Description
Begonia Cascade Sunray is a striking variety that bursts with large double flowers in stunning shades of orange and yellow, featuring delicately outlined petal edges. An absolute eye-catcher, Sunray promises to infuse vibrant energy wherever it graces your garden. These orange-red cascade begonias, known as 'Sunray,' will charm you for months, blooming brightly throughout the summer and autumn. They make a delightful addition to planters on your balcony or terrace, as well as in your garden, nestled among shorter annual plants. Begonias thrive in partial shade, so ensure they receive the gentle sunlight they love. To keep them at their best, water these beauties in the afternoon, once the intense midday sun has subsided.
The best time to plant the tubers is in early spring, after the last frost. Plant the tubers 2.5-5 cm deep and 20-30 cm apart in a well-drained soil. Water the plants regularly, especially during the first few weeks after planting. Begonia Cascade Sunray plants are heavy feeders, so fertilize them every 2-4 weeks with a balanced fertilizer. To encourage cascading growth, pinch back the tips of the stems when the plants are young. With proper care, Begonia Cascade Sunray plants will bloom all summer long.
The Begonia Cascade Sunray was introduced in 2017
